We begin a new program in 2025 entitled "Before They Were Gods." Each year we will offer lesser-known plays by masters of the American theatre. Our first master playwright will be Eugene O'Neill and we will produce the following one-act plays:

  • Ile (1917): the story of a stubborn sea captain and his fragile wife, stuck for months in an icy ocean in pursuit of whale "ile."

  • The Rope (1918): a seemingly deranged old man welcomes home his prodigal son by begging him to hang himself. Is there a method to his madness?  â€‹

Desire Under the Elms (1924)

by Eugene O'Neill

Sept. 19-21 & 26-28, 2025

We continue our celebration of Eugene O'Neill by presenting his American tragedy, heavily influenced by ancient Greek plays. It depicts the story of a love triangle between a father, a son, and a stepmother.
